Injection Moulded

Our solutions

Injection moulded badges and nameplates have a strong visual impact and are extremely versatile, so they can be used in a number of different environments. The 3D texture makes sure your badge stands out and adds to the perceived value of your product.

This can be a low-cost 3D badging process and although steel tooling is needed for complex forms and longer production runs, we can use economical machine engraved aluminium tooling to keep the setup costs at a minimum.

Here are a number of features of our injection moulded badges:

  • Choose from our range of base materials and foil colours.
  • Our special finishes include gloss, matt or bushed chrome, gold and metallic foils.
  • Badges can be fixed using self-adhesive or by mechanical detail incorporated into the design.
  • Diametric injection moulded badges and nameplates can be used in both internal and external environments.

Process

Injection moulding is a manufacturing technique to make 3D badges from thermoplastic material. A thermoplastic is a material that is plastic or deformable that melts to a liquid when heated and returns to a solid, smooth state when cooled sufficiently.

We make our badges by injecting molten styrene or ABS thermoplastic under pressure and into a female form tool. We can then apply decorative foils or chrome plating to Gibbs badgeproduce a high-quality and robust 3D finish.
